BOOKS Plus aims to enhance the caring environment provided by hospitals – for patients, visitors and staff by running attractive, encouraging and caring retail outlets of Christian and general interest books and related material.
The hard issues of life arising from being in hospital can sometimes cause people to question the core of what they believe, and while we don’t claim to have all the answers, we feel sure that some of them can be found among the books available at BOOKS Plus. BOOKS Plus shops are currently located in hospitals in two centres:
- BOOKS Plus Cardiff – University Hospital of Wales
- BOOKS Plus Gloucester – Gloucestershire Royal Hospital
BOOKS Plus Norwich at the Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital operated from 2003 to 2009.
Christmas & New Year Fundraiser for BOOKS Plus Cardiff
BOOKS Plus Cardiff has been successfully trading for more than 26 years enhancing the caring environment provided by the University Hospital – for patients, visitors and staff by running an attractive, encouraging and caring retail outlet of Christian and general interest books and related material.
We need the prayerful, volunteering and financial support of the local Christian community. This is so we can re-focus the way the shop functions in order to meet the financial challenge of trading from such a prime position but with rent and service charge levels more than twice what our sister shop is charged at the Gloucestershire Royal Hospital.
BOOKS Plus Cardiff is an important Christian ministry reaching many hundreds of patients, visitors and staff, through the literature we sell encouraging them to walk with Jesus as they journey on through life and also sometimes as the end of life draws near.
BOOKS Plus Cardiff is holding an open evening on 10th February from 6pm with free tickets for those who would like to find our more about the shop and its mission as well as benefiting from a 10% discount on purchases that evening.
